Portobello West – Spring 2014
Portobello West is one of Vancouver’s premiere Fashion and Art Markets. Their present venue at Creekside Community Centre in False Creek South is a perfect location with plenty of amenities nearby and a family-friendly area to spend a sunny afternoon.
Shannon Stewart’s design’s have been featured in Fashion magazine, the Vancouver Sun, LouLou Magazine, and during Vancouver Fashion Week 2009. You can find Shannon’s work in art/craft shows, such as Portobello West, private jewellery and studio parties, community art crawls, including The Drift and the Eastside Culture Crawl, consignment sales in local boutiques and online via Etsy.
My favorite is Shannon’s personalized monogram pendant which would make a perfect birthday gift.
Denise Lockett crafts glassware products from recycled wine bottles. Her process is gentle to the earth and produces beautiful and useful glasses, candle holders, hanging lanterns and even vases. Denis sells at Gift and craft shows in select retail locations and from her website.
Infused Salt. Bacon, Mountain Mushroom and Tuscano – yum. It’s the brain child of Eric Pateman, Executive Chef & President of Edible Canada. Amola sells their product through retailers, at events and through their online store. Baked a chicken breast with the Tuscano blend mixed with a bit of butter under the skin – quick and tasted wonderful. A salad and dinner’s ready!
Geneivieve Blanchet is a Québécoise who lives in BC. In her 20s she travelled in Europe where she became interested in traditional food. She’s a Holistic Nutritionist and a Traditional Herbalist. Geneivieve sells her jams and marmalades at farmer’s markets, events and her online store at Foodie Pages.
Geneivieve regularly contributes to 5 blogs plus her own. Her pear ginger jam is to die for. Just a sample of some of the flavors I look forward to trying – Lime, Lemongrass & Tequila Marmalade and Orange, Red Current and Chai.
I first became aware of Satya at the Sustainable Living Show. A travel size sample was included in the media kit. I didn’t find Patrice’s booth, but I did try her wonderful prouduct and have recommended it to several others. Satya is a certified organic calendula balm primarily for eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and burns, but it’s effective on a number of other conditions . It works and it’s made of 100% Organic ingredients; calednula petals, almond oil, bees wax and jojoba oil. Patrice sells as select retailers, events and her online store.
